In just one day, Maersk Interceptor drilled more than a mile, exactly 1742 meters, setting a new Norwegian drilling record.
The Interceptor team and the operator, Det Norske, carried out a trial in 2015 involving picking up and racking of sand screens in the derrick utilising all pipe handling equipment.
Since built in 2014, Maersk Interceptor has shown steady performance on 12 locations. In 2018 during subsea development for Spirit Energy in Norway, the rig, crew and onshore technical department showed results in operational excellence.

In February 2022, Maersk Drilling successfully completed a new milestone on its decarbonisation journey with a test resulting in a more than 94% reduction of CO2 emissions.
