Maersk Explorer won BP’s ‘Creating Efficiencies’ award for its performance in the first quarter of 2017.
In approximately 15 months the Voyager was able to drill fifteen new wells, re-enter three wells, drill four sidetrack sections and run lower completion on nine wells.
Since built in 2014, Maersk Interceptor has shown steady performance on 12 locations. In 2018 during subsea development for Spirit Energy in Norway, the rig, crew and onshore technical department showed results in operational excellence.
For projects involving shallow water drilling in the North Sea, an appropriately equipped jack-up rig may be a better fit for the task than a semi-submersible rig.
