Interceptor: An industry first with sand screen running

The Interceptor team and the operator, Det Norske, carried out a trial in 2015 involving picking up and racking of sand screens in the derrick utilising all pipe handling equipment.

Interceptor: An industry first with sand screen running

The trial proved to be successful. Sand screens were racked in the derrick offline during drilling operations and subsequently RIH on current well was worked on in stands
from the derrick with no issues and no rejects. Running of the screens from the derrick resulted in significant improvement in efficiency, compared to running the screens in singles from the deck. The racking of sand screens in stands in the derrick and the subsequent running of the screens was an industry first.
