Operating in MPD

During the start-up phase for Total at the Culzean Field, Maersk Highlander was modified to be able to operate in MPD mode, with this conversion being both installed and tested within budget and time.

Operating in MPD

The drill crew were trained on the MPD techniques on the Highlander simulator at RGU (Robert Gordon’s University) along with 3rd party personnel. By applying this method, the rig and crew successfully drilled four ultra HPHT 12.1/4” and 8.1/2” well sections in the Culzean field.
