Since Maersk Drilling became one of the first contractors to achieve an approved HSE case for Brunei waters in 2008, the Maersk Completer team has continuously worked to promote local business development in the country.

With a strong focus on creating local content, local Bruneians have received ‘real-life environment’ well control training at Maersk facilities in Denmark, enabling them to work offshore around the world. By the end of 2017, the employment of locals had exceeded the contractual agreement of 45%, with 56% of Maersk Drilling’s workforce in Brunei being locals.
