Maersk Drilling takes delivery of newbuild Maersk Invincible
Maersk Drilling has taken delivery of its fourth XLE jack-up rig, the Maersk Invincible, from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea. Maersk Invincible will now mobilise to the North Sea and will in the second quarter of 2017 commence a five year firm contract with Aker BP for plug and abandonment work on the Valhall field.

Third XLE jack-up rig added to Maersk Drilling’s fleet
Maersk Drilling has taken delivery of its third ultra harsh environment jack-up, XLE-3, from the Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore ahead of schedule. The rig will start her mobilisation to the Norwegian North Sea in late February, where she after arrival, will commence a contract of four years firm with 2x1 year options with Statoil for development drilling on the Gina Krog field in the Norwegian North Sea.
