Assistant Driller
The Assistant Driller supervises the work done on the drill floor and all other work in connection with the drilling operations. The Assistant Driller position is regarded as a trainee position to achieve competency to work as a Driller.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO HOLD THE POSITION?
In order to hold this position, you must have the following:
- Well Control Certificate at Driller level issued by an institution approved by the IWCF, combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack
- Good knowledge of mathematics (passed Driller’s Qualification course 1 and 2 or a similar level)
- Cyber base experience is considered advantageous.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Normally the Assistant Driller comes from a position as Drilling Fluid Operator. A minimum of five years’ experience in all phases of onsite drilling operations is required.
