In the volatile and often hazardous weather conditions of the North Sea, Maersk Drilling operates the world's most advanced jack-up drilling rigs. Their technical superiority gives our customers unique drilling efficiency.

Maersk Drilling is the world's leading supplier of rigs and drilling technology, designed to handle the challenges of the remote and unforgiving environments near polar areas.

The outstanding offline capabilities of our ultra harsh environment jack-ups minimise non-productive time and increase the operational efficiency of all drilling operations. Every corner of the rigs - from the comfortable living quarters to the uniquely automated deck - is custom-built to deliver efficient and safe operations while offering superior life and work quality to the crewmembers.

Our ultra harsh environment jack-ups are capable of drilling in 105 m (350 ft) of water and have a maximum drilling depth of 10,000 m (30,000 ft).

Selected features

XY cantilever Larger drilling envelope = less rig moves
Large cantilever loading = reduced pipe handling when bringing tubulars on to the rig & the ability to move with pipe in derrick
Offline activities 2 workstations (online/offline): Iron Roughneck and Torque master (Contingency leading to less NPT
All tubulars can be made up or laid out offline
Deck space Less manual handling and safer operation due to use of forklift on main deck
Equipment can be rigged up offline due to large deck space
Variable deck load High storage capacity allows for early planning of upcoming wells' logistics
Client's boat load reduced due to storage space on the rig
BOP system Offline test stump to optimise BOP testing
BOP carrier system for fast and safe transportation of the BOP
4-ram 15K BOP allows for HPHT drilling
Derrick Rack back stands of Range 2 and Range 3 tubulars
Fewer connections needed when tripping with R3 DP lead to a more efficient and safer operation
Automated handling Reliability and consistency comes from automatic running of pre-defined operations
Automatic recording of tubulars usage via e-tally
Draw-works Three speed draw-works enabling fast tripping
Built-in redundancy allows for continued operation if one motor fails
Mud pumps Rated for HPHT drilling
Fast top hole drilling & hole cleaning due to improved hydraulics
Two mud systems (oil or water based) handled simultaneously
Power supply Redundant system
Black-out prevention due to power management system prioritising loads
Attractive accommodation Low noise level inside accommodation space
Accommodation for 120 people, which allows for the running of a normal drilling operation including trainees, service personnel and other third parties onboard at the same time
Good meeting facilities
Offices at same level which improves communication and working relationships
Big open offices for services companies
Cinema, recreation rooms and telephones in all cabins improve the well-being of the crew
